Discovering resins with precious properties
This oil is an ode to the richness and depth of resins, one of the plant substances that humans have used since ancient times. We find them in all traditions.
First, the Bushman Candle, which was a deeply moving encounter. Its scent dates back to the dawn of time. To those nights when the men of the desert danced their hunger for the absolute, lit by those fragrant torches that connected them to the divine.
This shrub, which grows in the dry rocky terrain of southern Africa, is one of the plants known as "resin coats". Its branches are so rich in a type of resin that they can ignite spontaneously. This explains its other name, "candle bush", and hence Bushman Candle.
When we gently macerate oleoresin in vegetable oil, it releases its rich, deep and captivating fragrance, along with an unprecedented earthy power. It also provides Oléa Antica with its moisturising and regenerating properties for the skin.
Then, the Breu d’Amazonie, or Amazonian incense. Then the Myrrhe from Somalia, the third sacred resin. These vital and particularly precious substances, secreted by the plant to repair its wounds, give this wonderful oil its healing and purifying properties.
Nourish the skin and all the subtlest bodies
The initial impulse was to create this fluid balm as a tribute to Mary Magdalene. To her protective and inspiring presence. Over the course of the days and nights of the creative process, Oléa Antica became the ancestral balm, the song of origins.
For Queen Maria di Magdala, the mysterious traveller who brought back nard from Tibet and the science of macerates from the caves of Qumran, this balm contains all the botanical treasures that the earth has to offer. It is like a trip around the world, like a crown of flowers where ash branches are woven around rose, saffron and magnolia, supported by sandalwood and palo santo.
Oléa Antica carries within it the magic of plants. It nourishes even the most subtle bodies, recalling the most ancient rites of anointing. It opens us up to pure harmony, under the protection of its luminous scents.
Beyond its nourishing and protective properties for the skin, it can also be used as an "ointment". It is applied specifically to different parts of the body, such as the solar plexus, chest, throat and forehead between the eyes. These areas correspond to energy centres also known as chakras.
Applying Oléa Antica can give you a feeling of reharmonisation, a sense of luminous peace and light-hearted joy. It is as if the soul and spirit of the plants blended in this oil nourish the skin with their love.
